In the mid 1980s, long before Morley Safer’s piece on 60 Minutes titled, “The French Paradox” and before the release of the blockbuster film Sideways, I was part of a small group of wine representatives and educators traveling all of New York State by car, train, bus and plane, selling, doing wait-staff seminars, teaching wine classes and talking wine all along the way. For most of us, fresh out of college and new to the business world, this career turned into a life style of food and wine that led to life long friendships with people who enjoy discovering new wine regions and cuisines. Our famous get-togethers, which last for hours into the night always take place around tables cluttered with great bottles of wine and exquisite dishes. This journey has taken me to exciting places where I’ve seen the sights, savored the tastes and met the who’s who of the wine world. Sitting back and looking at the wine world today, it’s exhilarating to see the rest of America excited to join us!
Gary Grunner We have created this multifaceted website to reach out and engage people on both sides of the wine world, the eager buyer and the enthusiastic seller. There’s a lot to look forward to so let’s get started! Gary Grunner and Bob Lipinski Editor’s Note Last night we we dined at the Porter House in N.Y.C The restaurant was jam packed with everyone celebrating the holiday season. I must say it was the perfect dining experience , The food was outstanding along side a great wine list and service to brag about. Go out have some fun and help fill up restaurants in your area. Your local retailer can help you find that perfect gift for your friends and family and of course your local restaurateur can spoil you with his holiday menu.
